A vacancy exists for a numerate, energetic and articulate graduate to work within our environmental water management consultancy. A BSc degree in earth science, geology, environmental science or a closely allied subject is required. Some knowledge of water matters, such as flood risk, hydrology or hydrogeology would be a distinct advantage. Candidates should also possess ‘A’ levels in geography, sciences and / or mathematics.
The remit of the post is wide, but consists primarily of supporting the senior staff in undertaking their projects. Input is likely to include GIS work (including figure preparation), data collation and processing, fieldwork and some factual reporting. Data collation would involve liaison with the relevant authorities and acquiring data from publically available databases etc.
Long-term career prospects are excellent within the Company, hence effort will be applied to comprehensively develop the right candidate. Training will be provided in-house and also by attendance at appropriate external events. This may include attendance at training events and seminars.
The post is permanent, subject to successful completion of a 6-month probation period.
Salary and conditions
The post attracts a salary of £16,000 to £17,000 dependant on qualifications and experience. The salary would be reviewed on completion of the probation period.
Annual reviews of performance and salary apply, which is standard practice within the organisation. We also operate a profit sharing scheme and optional contributory pension in place.
