The importance of quarry restorations to provide landscape-scale habitat creation for the benefit of wildlife is slowly being recognized. Senior figures within both the RSPB and Natural England acknowledged the contribution the minerals industry is making at the Mineral Products Association (MPA) Quarries and Nature Awards 2019. This is perfectly illustrated by the linked MPA film produced for their Quarries and Nature Awards 2109 event. It showcases inspiring examples of what is being achieved in the mineral industry, an effort which deserves much greater recognition.
