The annual Mineral Products Association quarries restoration awards event was recently held at the Royal Society in London. It was truly inspiring and gave a window on the hugely positive contribution that quarry restoration provides for landscape-scale habitat creation. Tony Juniper, the Chair of Natural England, gave a keynote speech which acknowledged the importance of the industry to nature conservation.
